Dean C. Colson ’09, Chair

Dean Colson was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, and graduated magna cum laude from the University Of Miami School Of Law. Upon graduation, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Peter T. Fay, United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. In 1980, Mr. Colson was a law clerk for then Justice William H. Rehnquist, Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Colson is a partner with the law firm of Colson Hicks Eidson. He has specialized in product liability, aviation and complex commercial litigation.

Rogelio Tovar ’92 ’94, Vice Chair

Born in Puerto Rico to immigrant parents exiled from Cuba, Tovar was raised and educated in Miami. He has a distinguished track record of excellent results and has owned/operated a variety of businesses throughout his 25+ year career. Specifically, he has extensive experience in representing global brands, most recently in the automotive and restaurant industry, and as a strategic manager. Tovar began his career as an auditor for Price Waterhouse in the early 1990s. As a senior auditor, he led the audit of some of PWC’s most significant Miami-based clients. Donna J. Hrinak

With experience in both the private and public sectors, Donna Hrinak is an expert on doing business successfully in international markets.  She has worked in highly regulated industries, overseen operations in complex, multi-cultural settings, and led coalitions to create positive environments for business.

She began her career with The Kislak Companies in commercial real estate lending and was a construction lender at First Union Bank. T. Gene Prescott

Gene Prescott is President of the Biltmore Hotel and Principal shareholder of Seaway Hotels Corporation and affiliates. Mr. Prescott grew up on an Idaho ranch and graduated from the University of Idaho. He holds a M.S. Joerg Reinhold

Joerg Reinhold is a Professor of Physics. His research in experimental nuclear physics focuses on the aspects of quark-gluon degrees of freedom on nuclear structure and interactions. Dr. Reinhold earned a Diplom in Physics at the Technical University Munich (TUM) in 1990, a Ph.D. in Physics at TUM in 1995 and completed postdoctoral studies at Argonne National Laboratory. Argonne is a U.S. Department of Energy multidisciplinary science and engineering research center.

Chanel T. Rowe ’14

Chanel T. Rowe is General Counsel and Partner at Stonehaven, LLC, a leading global alternative asset placement agent and Fintech platform.

Before taking the reins of the legal department at Stonehaven, Ms. Rowe was Counsel in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Miami Regional Office where she led investigations and litigated actions involving complex fraud and federal securities violations.  Prior to joining the SEC, Ms. Rowe clerked for two years with Senior Judge Donald L. Graham, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and practiced at two AmLaw 100 firms, Akerman LLP and Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. During law school, Ms. Rowe served as a judicial intern to Chief Judge Melanie G. May of the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal, worked as a Summer Associate and law clerk, and contributed to an American Bar Association publication entitled The FCPA and the UK Bribery Act A Ready Reference for Business and Lawyers.

Alexander Rubido

Alexander Rubido is an undergraduate student pursuing a B.A. in Political Science. He currently serves as the Student Body President for Florida International University. In this capacity he, alongside his executive leadership and the other members of the organization represent the interests of the student body and serve as their representatives. The Student Government Association is responsible for the allocation of a twenty-million-dollar budget, expended for the benefit of the student body, and the overall enhancement of the collegiate experience at Florida International University. As President Alexander intends to pursue the following initiatives relating to student success and experiences this year: Improvement and proliferation of student spaces on campus, fostering an improved connection between the alumni of the university and the student body to improve employment outcomes post-graduation, increasing university affinity through both University Athletics and the Student life on campus, and fostering an increased connection between government and politics and the student body.
