Dean C. Colson ’09, Chair
Dean Colson was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, and graduated magna cum laude from the University Of Miami School Of Law. Upon graduation, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Peter T. Fay, United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. In 1980, Mr. Colson was a law clerk for then Justice William H. Rehnquist, Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Colson is a partner with the law firm of Colson Hicks Eidson. He has specialized in product liability, aviation and complex commercial litigation.
Cesar L. Alvarez
Cesar is the past Chief Executive Officer and current Chairman of Greenberg Traurig, LLP. During his 15 year tenure as CEO and Executive Chairman, which began in 1997, he led the firm to become one of the Top 10 law firms in the United States by leading its growth from 325 lawyers in eight offices to approximately 1850 attorneys in more than 36 locations in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America, including strategic alliances in Milan and Rome, Italy. Under Cesar’s leadership and with the support of his partners, the firm was recognized as the fastest-growing law firm in the United States. Cesar is the only Hispanic to lead a Top 10 law firm in the United States and internationally.
Donna J. Hrinak
With experience in both the private and public sectors, Donna Hrinak is an expert on doing business successfully in international markets. She has worked in highly regulated industries, overseen operations in complex, multi-cultural settings, and led coalitions to create positive environments for business.
As Senior Vice President for the new Corporate Affairs function in the Royal Caribbean Group, Donna is responsible for directing the global Communications and Government Relations teams. Through sustained engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, she develops programs and partnerships to ensure RCG’s license to operate, while differentiating the company as a travel industry leader.
Natasha Lowell is a Senior Vice President at First National Bank of South Miami in Commercial Lending. She has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry. She began her career with The Kislak Companies in commercial real estate lending and was a construction lender at First Union Bank. She was a Vice President at Great Florida Bank in commercial real estate and the President of Federated National Company. She is a former board Chair of the College Assistance Program Inc. (CAP,Inc.) of the Miami Foundation.
T. Gene Prescott
Gene Prescott is President of the Biltmore Hotel and Principal shareholder of Seaway Hotels Corporation and affiliates. Mr. Prescott grew up on an Idaho ranch and graduated from the University of Idaho. He holds a M.S. Degree from Carnegie-Mellon University, is a Certified Public Accountant (Touche-Ross, Cleveland) and was a management consultant in the United States and in Italy for Olivetti.
Chanel T. Rowe ’14
Chanel T. Rowe is General Counsel and Partner at Stonehaven, LLC, a leading global alternative asset placement agent and Fintech platform.
Before taking the reins of the legal department at Stonehaven, Ms. Rowe was Counsel in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Miami Regional Office where she led investigations and litigated actions involving complex fraud and federal securities violations. Prior to joining the SEC, Ms. Rowe clerked for two years with Senior Judge Donald L. Graham, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and practiced at two AmLaw 100 firms, Akerman LLP and Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. During law school, Ms. Rowe served as a judicial intern to Chief Judge Melanie G. May of the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal, worked as a Summer Associate and law clerk, and contributed to an American Bar Association publication entitled The FCPA and the UK Bribery Act A Ready Reference for Business and Lawyers.
Alexander Rubido is an undergraduate student pursuing a B.A. in Political Science. He currently serves as the Student Body President for Florida International University. In this capacity he, alongside his executive leadership and the other members of the organization represent the interests of the student body and serve as their representatives. The Student Government Association is responsible for the allocation of a twenty-million-dollar budget, expended for the benefit of the student body, and the overall enhancement of the collegiate experience at Florida International University. As President Alexander intends to pursue the following initiatives relating to student success and experiences this year: Improvement and proliferation of student spaces on campus, fostering an improved connection between the alumni of the university and the student body to improve employment outcomes post-graduation, increasing university affinity through both University Athletics and the Student life on campus, and fostering an increased connection between government and politics and the student body.
The Honorable Carlos Trujillo, Ambassador, Retired, and Partner at Continental Strategy is a prominent Florida attorney and politician with a thorough understanding of US and Latin American politics and business, based in Washington, DC with offices in Miami.
Mr. Trujillo served as the United States Ambassador to the Organization of American States (2018-2021), and as a member of the Florida House of Representatives (2010-2018). He was a founding partner of Trujillo, Vargas, Gonzalez and Hevia LLP (2011–2017), and worked as an assistant state attorney in Florida’s 11th Judicial District (2007-2011).
