Dean C. Colson, Chair
Dean Colson was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, and graduated magna cum laude from the University Of Miami School Of Law. Upon graduation, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Peter T. Fay, United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. In 1980, Mr. Colson was a law clerk for then Justice William H. Rehnquist, Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Colson is a partner with the law firm of Colson Hicks Eidson. He has specialized in product liability, aviation and complex commercial litigation.
Cesar L. Alvarez
Cesar is the past Chief Executive Officer and current Chairman of Greenberg Traurig, LLP. During his 15 year tenure as CEO and Executive Chairman, which began in 1997, he led the firm to become one of the Top 10 law firms in the United States by leading its growth from 325 lawyers in eight offices to approximately 1850 attorneys in more than 36 locations in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America, including strategic alliances in Milan and Rome, Italy. Under Cesar’s leadership and with the support of his partners, the firm was recognized as the fastest-growing law firm in the United States. Cesar is the only Hispanic to lead a Top 10 law firm in the United States and internationally.
Leonard Boord is the founder of Slon Capital, an investment firm in Miami and is the Managing Director of Lydians Capital. Boord is a 4-time CEO focusing in the technology sector in Latin America. Two of the startups he helped develop were delivered to Fortune 500 buyers. A member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, he currently is the Treasurer of the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) and a member of the Board of four private companies involved in logistics, fourth party logistics, mobile payments and airport concessions.
Gerald C. Grant, Jr
Gerald Grant, Jr. is the Branch Director of Financial Planning of AXA Advisors’ South Florida Branch. He brought to AXA Advisors over eleven years of banking experience. At Citibank he held the position of Branch Vice President and Cluster Manager. Prior to Citibank, Gerald was a Branch Manager with Great Western Bank, where he was named, for two consecutive terms “Branch Manager of the Year”. Gerald was also named “Banker of the Year” by the Miami-Dade Urban Bankers Association.
Donna J. Hrinak
Donna Hrinak was appointed president of Boeing Brazil in October 2011 and president of Boeing Latin America in November 2014. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the Boeing strategy in Latin America and leads companywide activities including government affairs, identifying new and emerging business opportunities, corporate citizenship programs, and enhancing company relationships with customers and other stakeholders. Hrinak also leads the company’s strategy to grow regional market opportunities in Latin America.
Natasha Lowell is a Senior Vice President at First National Bank of South Miami in Commercial Lending. She has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry. She began her career with The Kislak Companies in commercial real estate lending and was a construction lender at First Union Bank. She was a Vice President at Great Florida Bank in commercial real estate and the President of Federated National Company. She is a former board Chair of the College Assistance Program Inc. (CAP,Inc.) of the Miami Foundation.
T. Gene Prescott
Gene Prescott is President of the Biltmore Hotel and Principal shareholder of Seaway Hotels Corporation and affiliates. Mr. Prescott grew up on an Idaho ranch and graduated from the University of Idaho. He holds a M.S. Degree from Carnegie-Mellon University, is a Certified Public Accountant (Touche-Ross, Cleveland) and was a management consultant in the United States and in Italy for Olivetti.
Claudia Puig is President and General Manager of Local Media in Miami for Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America. Puig oversees UCI’s radio and television stations in South Florida with responsibility for sales, content, digital, finance, operations and community relations.
Puig joined Univision Radio in 1997 and was Senior Vice President, Regional Manager where she was responsible for the overall supervision of operations, finances, sales, business development, and programming for a total of nine Univision Radio stations in Miami, New York and Puerto Rico.
Alexandra Valdes is currently pursuing a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations at Florida International University and serves as the MMC Student Body President. In this capacity, she, alongside the executive leadership, are responsible for the allocation of a $20 million budget for the enhancement of the overall collegiate experience for the 56,000 students at FIU. Some of her initiatives this year are focused around enhancing student success and engagement through strategic initiatives, supporting young women in pursuit of a career in government, promoting overall accessibility of health and wellbeing for all students, and increasing university affinity among the student body by concentrating on efforts to increase presence at athletics and game attendance.
