Collazo, Alian

Collazo 2Alian Collazo is a senior studying International Relations with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies and a certificate in European Studies. He began his academic career at Florida International University (FIU) in the summer of 2013. He became involved in the Student Government Association (SGA) in 2014 as a Lower Division Senator. His involvement as a Lower Division Senator and the Senator At Large led to his decision to run for Student Government President. Through his involvements, Alian engages with students, faculty and staff to address concerns and help create positive change.

Alian has been involved with Alternative Breaks as a Site Leader and the Academy of Leaders program as a participant. With the guidance of these programs, he has learned the importance of service to the community and has translated those principles to his leadership in SGA. He has taken part in many committees throughout the university including the FIUBeyondPossible2020 Committee, the University Wide Budget Committee, and the Technology Fee Committee.

Alian’s term as SGA’s President for the Modesto A. Maidique Campus began Monday May 16, 2016. He is committed to selflessly serving our students this upcoming academic year by being a passionate advocate for FIU and providing dedicated leadership to help FIU continue exceeding its expectations.
